Did you spill water, cola, beer, wine, or coffee on your MacBook Pro / Air?
No reason to panic!
Repairing liquid damage is almost always worth it. We will thoroughly analyze your MacBook and replace defective components, rather than simply swapping the entire motherboard as other computer services or Apple often do. This significantly reduces the repair costs. Just bring your device by, and we will discuss the repair process together. We will, of course, provide you with an estimate that will be credited towards the final repair.
You can bring your MacBook to our workshop in Munich or send it in (see address below).
Liquid on electronic components triggers two processes immediately: short circuits due to the liquid's conductivity and slow corrosion through electrolysis as soon as power is applied. An immediate repair is therefore a race against time. Simply waiting in the hope that nothing will happen is unwise and will ultimately be very expensive. Drying the device in air or rice is ineffective because corrosion continues under the components, often leading to total failure after a few weeks.
After complete disassembly, the logic board is cleaned in an industrial ultrasonic bath to remove mineral residues and oxidation layers under the chips (especially BGA components). We then inspect all solder joints under a microscope. Frequently, corroded traces must be reconstructed with the finest enameled wire, and defective controller ICs or capacitors must be replaced. We perform low-level repairs, meaning soldering at the chip level using computer-controlled soldering machines.
This depends entirely on the extent of the damage. The most time-consuming part is usually the damage analysis, which we perform with extreme care. If only the keyboard is affected, the repair can be completed in one day. Generally, however, you should expect 3 to 4 working days.
